Nicole Livas Leaving WAVY

By Mark Joyella

Nicole Livas, primary co-anchor at Norfolk NBC affiliate WAVY, will leave the station after 14 years, reports the Virginian-Pilot.

“Nicole’s husband has been working out of the District of Columbia for some time,” news director Mark Kurtz told the paper. “She will be moving up there to be with him and make it their home…We will be sad to see Nicole leave.”

Livas was moved into the main anchor role in 2013. Before coming to WAVY she was an anchor and reporter for WJAR in Providence, RI. Her mother, Becky, was the first African-American anchor in Hampton Roads.
