Nicholas Ferreri has been promoted to chief meteorologist at WANE, the CBS affiliate in Fort Wayne, Ind. He will begin September 30 on the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, according to the Fort Wayne Business Weekly.
“Nicholas has earned this promotion,” news director Ted Linn said. “Earned it through ready execution, calm delivery, virtually mistake-free performance, perfect work record, station-wide respect, balanced demeanor, exemplary team play and efficient organization.”
Ferreri, WANE’s weekend meteorologist, joined the station in 2010. He replaces Jonathan Conder, who is leaving Fort Wayne for KOCO in Oklahoma City, Fort Wayne Business Weekly reports.

Fort Wayne, IN – September 18, 2013 – Nicholas Ferreri is stepping in as the new chief meteorologist at WANE-TV. Ferreri is replacing former chief, Jonathan Conder. Conder accepted a new position in Oklahoma City, OK.
“Nicholas has earned this promotion! Earned it through ready execution, calm delivery, virtually mistake-free performance, perfect work record, station-wide respect, balanced de-meanor, exemplary team play, and efficient organization,” said Ted Linn, WANE-TV news director. “Nicholas brings to this responsibility eight years observing and growing in three markets. His presence on our unri-valed weekend morning news reveals his multiple talents.”
Chief meteorologist Nicholas Ferreri joins Mark Mellinger and Heather Herron weekdays at 5pm, 6pm and 11pm—starting Monday, September 30th.

There’s always something happening in the world of weather and I’m excited to be a part of our weather coverage now on a nightly basis,” said Ferreri. “I look forward to leading our team of meteorologists in delivering interesting and useful weather content both on-air and online each day.”
Nicholas is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He par-ticipates in community service projects through his membership in Kiwanis International, an organization with which he’s been involved since high school. Ferreri is a graduate of Ball State University with a Mas-ter’s degree in Geosciences-Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University. Prior to joining the Live Doppler 15 Fury storm team, Nicholas delivered accurate forecasts at WILX-WSYM TV in Lansing, Michi-gan. And, before his promotion to chief—Ferreri flourished as meteorologist and co-anchor of NewsChan-nel 15’s First News Weekend.
“Our WANE coverage area includes so many great communities,” added Ferreri. “It’s been an honor to visit numerous schools and community organizations during my time here at WANE-TV to talk about weather and learn more about what our viewers want to know when they get their daily forecasts.
