Nexstar Promotes Jerry Walsh, Chris Berg to Content Development Roles

Nexstar has promoted Jerry Walsh to the new position of vice president of Local Content Development which includes oversight of the recently expanded Washington D.C. news bureau, serving Nexstar’s 170 TV stations in 100 markets.

Walsh has been director of the division since 2011 when he joined the company from WROC where he was news director.

At the same time Chris Berg has been promoted to senior director of Local Content Development, reporting to Walsh. In his new role, Nexstar says Berg will work with local news directors and the digital media teams “to further strengthen Nexstar’s local broadcast news products and brands, web and mobile content concepts, and social media engagement initiatives.”

Berg joined Nexstar in 2014 after stints at WFAA, KSTP and KOB and KMGH.
