Patti McGettigan is out as news director of Lin-owned CBS affiliate WISH. McGettigan, who updated her Facebook timeline on Friday with the news, had been with Lin for the last 17 years and with WISH for the last 3. She joined from WOOD-TV 8 where she’d spent 14 years as executive producer, assistant news director and, starting in 2001, news director.
Earlier this summer, popular meteorologist Angela Buchman left WISH to join crosstown rival WTHR. An Indiana native, Buchman had been with WISH since 2001.
The Indiana Business Journal has the latest Indy ratings, which show WISH at #2 or #3 behind WTHR (NBC) and WXIN (FOX) in the May book, vs. May 2011, with all stations’ newscasts down. In particular, WISH at 5 p.m. was down 17.6 percent and at 6pm down 40.9 percent year-over year.
