News Director Pat Livingston Let Go After Just One Year with KTVX

News director Pat Livingston has been shown the door at Salt Lake City’s KTVX.

Livingston was let go after the ABC-affiliate finished in fourth place during the February sweeps.  According to The Salt Lake Tribune, assistant news director Shawana Perry has been put in charge of the newsroom until the station finds a permanent replacement.

Livingston joined KTVX a little over a year ago and, according to sources, his tenure was marred by tension in the newsroom.  His temper reportedly got the best of him on several occasions and members of the news team worked in fear of his profanity-laced outbursts. On one such occasion, he was even seen punching a wall in front of a producer.

Before coming to Salt Lake City, Livingston worked as an ND in Toledo, Youngstown, and Peoria.
