New York Stations to Remember 9/11 On Fifteenth Anniversary

By Kevin Eck

Sunday marks the fifteenth anniversary of four coordinated terrorist attacks when two hijacked planes flew into the World Trade Center in New York, one hit the Pentagon and another crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.

New York stations will remember September 11, 2001 by televising the Commemoration Ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial site in Manhattan where the Twin Towers once stood, which includes reading the names of the 2,606 people who lost their lives that day.

NBC-owned WNBC will start coverage of the ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and go until 12:30.

“Their reports will air in our newscasts leading up to CBS 2’s live coverage of the ceremonies at ground zero,” a WCBS spokesperson told TVSpy. “We are also streaming the ceremonies live on cbsnewyork.com and on Facebook.com/CBSNewYork.”

WNYW will start its special coverage at 8 a.m. and go until Noon. Good Day New York anchors Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly will host.

Tribune’s WPIX will air the ceremony live from 7 a.m. until Noon.
