Austin CBS affiliate KEYE is switching up its morning news lineup.
Chris Saldaña and Allison Miller will be leaving their spots on “We Are Austin,” the station’s 9:00 a.m. lifestyle program, to take over as anchors of “KEYE-TV Morning News,” airing weekdays from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m.
“We’ll give our viewers what they need in the morning – news, traffic, weather – while adding bursts of what they want – more personality and opportunities to allow viewers to welcome us into their homes,” KEYE news director Rob Cartwright told Austin 360.
Current morning co-anchor Ericka Miller will take on a new role as the “Happening Now” anchor. She’ll handle breaking news and monitor developing stories for the a.m. show.
Ashley Roberts will continue to serve as traffic anchor while the station looks for a permanent replacement for Erica Brennes, who left earlier this month.
Saldaña and Miller start their new positions on February 16.
