Nashville Anchor Leaves At End Of Summer

Former CNN reporter and current WKRN anchor, Samantha Fisher, is stepping down to step into a full time role as Mommy.

The station posted her announcement on Facebook Friday.

“At the end of the Summer, I’ll be leaving News 2. The reason is personal,” she said. “There is a lot of emotion today, most of all because of the relationships developed in the newsroom and with those in the community who watch us and get to know us.”

Fisher, an Emmy-award winning journalist, started at the Nexstar owned ABC affiliate in 2012. Before joining the station she worked for CNN as a correspondent based in Washington, DC, KSL-TV in Utah and WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia.
