Morning Anchor Shauna Khorrami Out at KLAS

After just eight months as morning co-anchor at KLAS, Shauna Khorrami is out at the Las Vegas CBS affiliate, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

Khorrami and co-anchor Cale Ramaker debuted in July. They were hired to replace Dayna Roselli, who was fired from KLAS. Station management said they were “not satisfied” with the ratings for the morning newscast.

According to Review Journal‘s Norm Clarke, Khorrami’s “work habits” could be to blame for her sudden departure:

Meantime, Khorrami’s work habits were causing consternation in the newsroom, according to sources.

On occasion, she was known to show up shortly before the show started at 4 a.m. She tested the producers’ patience, one source said, when, “during breaking news, she would be singing show tunes at her desk.”

The station sent Khorrami and Ramaker to “$1,000-a-day anchor school” for a week and launched an expensive promotional campaign to boost the morning newscast. There has been no significant ratings growth for the program, Clarke reports.
