Morning anchor Matt Stewart is leaving Kansas City CBS-affiliate KCTV.
Last month, KCTV announced that Alexis Del Cid had been hired from KOIN to helm the morning newscast. She begins next month.
“The station has decided to bring in a brand new morning anchor team, and it’s unfortunate I will be leaving KCTV5 after 8 years of hard work and loyal service,” Stewart told Bottom Line Communications. “I will miss many of my co-workers, and I wish them the best in the future.”

Stewart, who has been the station’s morning co-anchor since 2011, said he hopes to “grow as an anchor and reporter with another television station.”
