KSDK was pretty open about having two of its meteorologists take the buyout offered by parent-company TEGNA.
The St. Louis station announced on Friday, at the end of its 6 p.m. newscast, meteorologists Cindy Preszler and Mike Roberts are on their way out, but not retiring at the end of next week.
“We thank Cindy and Mike for their excellent contributions to our station and St. Louis,” said Marv Danielski, president and GM. “It would be impossible to adequately express how much Cindy and Mike have contributed to our community over the years, and how much they will be missed. We celebrate them and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”
Preszler started at the station in 1998. She worked at WMAQ in Chicago before that. Roberts worked at KSHB in Kansas City, KMOV in St. Louis and WOWT in Omaha, Neb., before joining the station in 1996.
In Charlotte, N.C., Glenn Counts took the buyout from NBC affiliate WCNC. A tipster tells TVSpy editor Milton Boyd also left the station via the buyout.
Counts told TVSpy he’s not done with TV and has decided to take a break. He also sounded hopeful he would find another broadcast job.
He started at the station in 1988 and worked at KDFW in Dallas, WLOS in Asheville, N.C., and WWBT in Richmond, Va., before that.
