More Orlando viewers watched Casey Anthony trial during the day than watched Heat-Mavericks game #2 in Primetime

Only 50 people will get to see the Casey Anthony trial in person at the Orange County Courthouse, but hundreds of thousands more are watching on Orlando’s TV stations.

The Orlando Sentinel’s Hal Boedeker has the numbers from yesterday.

And it turns out, more people watched the trial on WFTV, WOFL and CFN13 combined than viewed the Dallas Mavericks – Miami Heat NBA playoff game in prime time, says WFTV news director Bob Jordan.

But the interest is “not just on television,” Jordan tells TVSpy. “We exceeded 2-million page views yesterday.”

Afternoon coverage is attracting more viewers than WFTV’s usual programming — ABC soap operas and trial coverage between 4 and 5 “greatly exceeded” re-runs of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
