Yuhas announced the move Friday on his Facebook page, writing, “It was a real pleasure and a dream since I was six years old to forecast the weather in my hometown of the Twin Cities. My 13 years on the KARE sunrise show went so fast.”
KARE recently replaced Yuhas on the morning show with Sven Sundgaard, according to The Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Yuhas was reassigned to an online and storm-chasing meteorologist.
Yuhas will start with KSTP on September 16 as a weekend meteorologist. He will join former KARE colleague Ken Barlow, who returned to the Twin Cities as a KTSP meteorologist in May.
