Milwaukee Chief Meteorologist Leaving, Replacement Named

WDJT chief meteorologist Mark McGinnis is leaving the Milwaukee CBS affiliate and will be replaced by Fort Smith, Ark. meteorologist Drew Burgoyne.

Burgoyne is chief meteorologist at KHBS-KHOG where he is known as Drew Michaels. He takes over for McGinnis in June. McGinnis is leaving to focus on his weather consulting business.

The news was first reported by Arkansas TV News.

“While we are sad to see Mark go, we are thrilled to get someone of Drew’s caliber in Milwaukee,” said Mark Strachota, VP & GMof WDJT. “Drew’s knowledge and passion for weather is a perfect fit for us as we continue to grow our weather position in Southeast Wisconsin.”

Said Burgouyne, “I have always supported my beloved green and gold, and being born in Green Bay it is a part of me, just like the weather is.”
