Milwaukee’s WDJT had the best ratings for a local metered market station for the 2015 NCAA Tournament Championship Game.

The game, in which Duke defeated the University of Wisconsin, drew a 42.2 rating / 59 share in Milwaukee, which is the largest TV market in Wisconsin. WRAL, the CBS affiliate in Raleigh/Durham, home to Duke, had a 36.2 rating / 54 share. Interestingly, the No. 3 market nationally was Louisville, 90 minutes west of the University of Kentucky, which lost to Wisconsin in the final four game. WLKY averaged a 33.5 rating / 48 share. Wisconsin hasn’t been to the NCAA Final since 1941.

Nationally, the game drew 17.1 rating / 21 share, the highest overnight rating for the NCAA Men’s National Championship in the metered markets in 18 years and up +33% over last year (12.9/21; Connecticut-Kentucky).
