Mike Missanelli Apologizes for Cursing on Hot Mic

By Andrew Gauthier

Mike Missanelli, Philadelphia sports radio personality and WTXF contributer, apologized to viewers last night for accidentally cursing on-air during WTXF’s 5 p.m. newscast.

“Even though I thought my microphone was off, my language was inappropriate,” Missanelli told viewers during the 10 p.m. newscast. “From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry” (video above).

Earlier in the evening, Missanelli spoke to WTXF anchor Thomas Drayton from his radio studio at 97.5 FM. Following the segment, as anchor Lauren Cohn teased upcoming stories, Missanelli is clearly heard yelling, “Dude, what the f—? Same bullsh– happens all the time!”

It’s unclear what exactly Missanelli was referring to during his tirade. Video of the hot mic incident is now up on YouTube (although it will likely be yanked soon).
