Mike Klis, the Broncos reporter for The Denver Post, is leaving the paper to take essentially the same role at KUSA.
Klis will be joining the Broncos coverage team at the Denver NBC affiliate, which includes Drew Soicher, Rod Mackey and Aaron Matas.
Post editor Greg Moore and sports editor Scott Monserud sent a memo to staffers announcing the news. It read, in part:
It is with a note of sadness that we report Mike Klis, our Broncos beat reporter, is leaving the Denver Post to join Channel 9 in a sports reporting role, focusing primarily on the Broncos…Mike loves The Post, but at this stage of his career it was enticing to take on this new challenge. He has been an incredible force at The Post and he will be missed.
Klis’ departure from the Post is effective immediately.
His first day at KUSA is April 27.
