Michelle White Lafitte Leaving Shreveport’s KTAL

Michelle White Lafitte is leaving the Shreveport, LA, NBC affiliate KTAL.

“Michelle White Lafitte has resigned her position at KTAL-TV,” KTAL vice president and general manager Mark McKay told TVSpy. “We appreciate the fine work she has done for us the past three years as well as her respected career in the Shreveport-Bossier-Texarkana television market. We wish her and her family all the best in the future.”

Rumors of the popular anchor being forced out at the station first came up in October after KTAL hired Jacque Jovic to replace her on the 10 pm. news.  The station then added to the confusion when Jovic debuted the same week White Lafitte started her vacation.  The station took to facebook to calm viewers who noticed the anchor was missing.

Chris Huston KTAL news director told TVSpy at the time, “There was apparently A BIT OF confusion because Michelle’s picture was edited out of the 10:00 show open, folks wondering if she had left the station.  The fact she’s been gone this week simply added to some unintended confusion.”

Before working at KTAL, White Laffitte was the primary anchor at the Shreveport CBS affiliate KSLA for six years.  She has also worked for TV stations in Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Louisiana.
