NBC6, the NBC owned station Fort Lauderdale-Miami, has named a new weekend anchor.
Anchor, Roxanne Vargas, will take over the Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts.
“Roxy is a native of Miami fully committed to keeping our viewers informed and prepared at all times and her professionalism, enthusiasm, and knowledge of our South Florida community are unparalleled,” said Migdalia Figueroa, vice president of News at NBC6.
Vargas also regularly contributes reports in Spanish for NBC6’s sister station, Telemundo 51.
During her time at WTVJ, Vargas has received 10 Emmy nominations. For the last 6 years, Vargas has served as host of NBC6’s entertainment show ‘6 In The Mix.’ She will continue to anchor that show three days a week.
