Knoxville ABC affiliate WATE has announced the addition of Ryan Beesley to its news team.
Beesley will join chief meteorologist Matt Hinkin, Ken Weathers and Trent Magill on the station’s weather team.
“Our viewers rely on us not only for accurate and dependable weather coverage, but to keep them safe during severe weather. As we continue to add newscasts, and more and more consumers use our digital products, apps, social media, mobile and website, it’s important we grow our WATE 6 On Your Side Storm Team,” said WATE news director Jamie Foster. “Ryan’s experience and true passion for weather adds great depth and I look forward to watching him work alongside Matt and the team.”
Beesley previously worked at WALB, the Albany, Ga., NBC and ABC affiliate, as the weekend meteorologist.
His first day at WATE is Monday, March 23.
