Thomas’ fans recently took to Facebook to ask the station about the whereabouts of their favorite weatherman. On the WSFA Weather Facebook page, the station responded to one fans’ query with the following:

Rich Thomas is no longer employed at WSFA. We want to thank Rich for his 33 years of service to WSFA and our viewers. We wish Rich the very best in his future endeavors. As in any personnel matter there will be no further comment.

WSFA copy and pasted this response to multiple requests from fans for more info about Thomas’ disappearance. Suffice to say, the viewers were not satisfied with this.

Thomas, who’s been with the station since 1981, became chief meteorologist in 1983.

WSFA has removed Thomas’ bio from its website and his station Facebook and Twitter pages have been disabled.
