Meteorologist Jeff Kennedy Leaving KWWL After 32 Years

Longtime KWWL meteorologist Jeff Kennedy has announced he is leaving the Waterloo, IA, NBC station.

“It’s been an amazing career, and I’ve been blessed to work with a lot of incredible people,” said Kennedy. “It’s been a pleasure to be a part of such an incredible team, but I’m looking forward to what is coming next, and happy to have my family by my side for it.”

Kennedy started his career at KWWL in 1981 making him the longest serving meteorologist in eastern Iowa.

“He’s been a part of numerous community events throughout the region,” KWWL vice president and general manager Jim McKernan said in a statement. “On top of that, his classroom visits make a connection with younger viewers, while educating them about something that affects each and every one of us – the weather.”

His last day will be December 31.
