Meteorologist Back After Shooting: ‘Superman Returns’

By Mark Joyella

Patrick Crawford, meteorologist at Temple, Texas NBC affiliate KCEN, was back on the air Monday for the first time since he was shot outside the station’s studios. “I timed my comeback very nicely with today’s forecast,” he joked. “We’ve got great weather today.”

The station’s morning anchors wore t-shirts with a Superman logo on the front and “Crawford Strong” on the back in honor of Crawford’s return. He’d been dubbed “Superman” by colleagues as he recovered from his injuries.

Crawford was released from the hospital at the end of December, two weeks after the shooting, which remains unsolved.
