Media General has shuffled its market leadership. The independent media company, which owns stations along the east coast down to the mid-south and Florida, announced this week that it had named Dan Bradley as the president and market leader of Ohio/Rhode Island and Marilyn Hammond as the president and market leader of North Carolina. Hammond is succeeding James R. Conschafter, who will become president and market leader of Virginia/Tennessee.

“We are pleased to promote Marilyn Hammond and Dan Bradley into new roles as leaders of two of Media General’s geographic market segments,” said Marshall N. Morton, president and chief executive of Media General. “Jim Conschafter has been an outstanding market leader to our North Carolina properties and we are pleased to move him to the leadership of our Virginia/Tennessee local media groups.”

Conschafter is assuming the post that has been held by James A. Zimmerman, who is set to retire after 35 years with Media General.
