Media General has named Don Pratt VP and GM of Charleston, S.C., NBC affiliate WCBD.
This is a return to Charleston for Pratt who was news director of CBS affiliate WCSC from 2001-2005.
“We are delighted to attract such a talented broadcast leader to WCBD,” Bob Peterson, VP of broadcast markets for Media General said in a statement. “Don understands the Charleston market from a news perspective and what drives its audience.”

Pratt comes to WCBD from Sinclair owned KBOI-KYUU in Boise, ID, where he was VP and GM. Before that he was news director of KATU in Portland, OR, for six years. He has also worked at WHDH in Boston, WCSC in Charleston, and KGO in San Francisco.
