Marla Weech Replaces Lisa Bell As Morning Anchor For Central Florida News 13

Marla Weech, who is a veteran anchor for several stations in the Orlando market, has been named morning anchor at Central Florida News 13, Orlando’s cable news station.

“I can’t think of a better person than Marla to help Central Florida start their day,” said News 13 VP-GM Robin Symthe. “Marla is smart, she’s talented, she’s warm, and she truly cares about our community and our viewers.” Weech replaces Lisa Bell, who left News 13 last week.

Since joining News 13 in March, Weech has been contributing to News 13 as a reporter, covering  the last Atlantis shuttle launch and the Casey Anthony case. Prior to joining News 13, she was an anchor at two other stations on Orlando — ABC affiliate WFTV and CBS affiliate WKMG, who cut her loose in 2008 due to a tough economy.

“I’m excited to be greeting Central Florida every morning,” Weech said. “It’s also wonderful to be part of a team of journalists who work around the clock to make sure our viewers have the very latest news. We’re going to make sure they have all the news, weather and traffic information they need to get their day started right.”
