An Arksansas man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and commercial burglary after he allegedly attacked KTVE-KARD reporter Brea Douglas.
Douglas was leaving the stations’ El Dorado newsroom Sunday when the suspect, Demetrian McElroy, “forced Douglas back into the Main Street newsroom, held her down and showed a knife,” according to KTVE-KARD.
McElroy ran off after two people heard Douglas’ screams and came to help. Douglas was able to identify McElroy on Tuesday. He is currently in jail on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
