Macie McInnis Jepson Returns to Cleveland, Joining WEWS Morning Newscast

Macie McInnis Jepson is returning to Cleveland TV as the new co-anchor of WEWS‘s morning newscast.

The ABC-affiliate announced this week that McInnis Jepson, who worked at Cleveland Fox-affiliate WJW in the 90s, would be joining the station in November.

“Announcing Macie as one of our morning news anchors is another step in strengthening this very important news daypart,” WEWS news director Jill Manuel said in a statement.  “Many viewers already know Macie, and her knowledge of the people, places, and things that matter to Northeast Ohioans will be advantageous to everyone who engages with NewsChannel5 in the morning on-air, online and through our social media platforms.”

This summer, WEWS decided not to renew the contracts of morning anchors Kimberly Gill and Pete Kenworthy.  And Curtis Jackson, who took over for Gill and Kenworthy at the morning anchor desk following their departures, recently left the station to join WKRC in Cincinnati.

WEWS plans to announce McInnis Jepson’s co-anchor soon, and the duo will team up with meteorologist Christine Ferreira and traffic reporter Alicia Roberts.

Most recently, McInnis Jepson worked as an anchor and medical reporter for WFAA in Dallas.  Here’s video of her anchoring for WJW…
