Loveland left WRAL after 10 years to work in radio. The station said she was ready to return after five years as a morning drive co-host on its radio sister station WRAL-FM.
She will co-anchor WRAL News on FOX affiliate WRAZ weekday mornings and fill-in anchor on WRAL.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming back to WRAL-TV!” Loveland said in a statement. “Not only is the name synonymous with news excellence, but for me, it also stands for family. I can’t wait to get back in the newsroom Friday morning.”
#WelcomeHomeLynda generated nearly 260,000 impressions on twitter after WRAL news director Rick Gall first tweeted about the move.
