Louisville director of metro parks Mike Heitz was suspended on Tuesday after a report by WAVE‘s Eric Flack exposed several occurrences of Heitz drinking and driving his city vehicle.
Flack’s report, presented in two parts (watch the first part after the jump), includes hidden camera video of Heitz, as well as records of Heitz’s prior DUI arrest. The second part of the WAVE report will air tonight on the 6 p.m. newscast.
Louisville media reporter Rick Redding takes an interesting look at how WAVE’s competitors covered the story, finding that while the other Louisville stations covered Heitz’s suspension, none of them mentioned it came as the result of a WAVE report.
