Longtime WNYW Anchor Ernie Anastos Set to Debut ‘Positive’ New Special

By Andrew Gauthier

Longtime WNYW anchor Ernie Anastos, who currently appears on the Fox O&O’s 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts, is debuting a new special–and a new stage in his career–tonight with “Positively Ernie,” which focuses on positive stories from the New York area.

Tonight’s special, which will run at 10:30 following the 10 p.m. newscast, will feature former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan and current Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira discussing their individual community projects, as well as an interview with former Yankee manager Joe Torre about his “Safe at Home” charity that helps abused children in New York and Los Angeles.

“What I’m going to do now is, this is like a pinnacle, being able to reach that point where I can turn around and launch something,” Anastos told FishbowlNY recently. “I’ve got some fabulous guests that are coming on and talking about improvements, changes, and things that are making life better for us.” Read more at FishbowlNY
