Longtime KWQC anchor Charles King has died, reports the Quad Cities Times.

King was a fixture on the morning news at the Quad Cities NBC affiliate for 16 years.

“From the minute we met, we were good friends and that only grew from 1992 and on,” said KWQC weather anchor Theresa Bryant, who worked alongside King until his retirement in 2005. “We considered each other family.”
