Larry McCarren, who departed WFRV earlier this year after 24 years covering sports for the Green Bay CBS-affiliate, has signed on with WTMJ in Milwaukee to cover the Packers.

McCarren has been the color commentator for games on the Packers Radio Network since 1995. The flagship station of the Packers Radio Network is WTMJ-AM.

“Packers fans have enjoyed Larry’s work on the radio for many years and will now have the chance to see his detailed analysis and reporting on television in Milwaukee and online from anywhere in the world,” said Steve Wexler, the exectuive vice president of Journal Broadcast Group, which owns both WTMJ-TV and WTMJ-AM.

“We are very proud to continue our work with Larry McCarren,” Carl Moll, Journal’s director of network operations, said in announcing move. “As a former player, he brings a special kind of insight that is highly focused on the how and why behind the plays of the games and Packers players.”
