Longtime Good Day Austin reporter will now solo anchor the weekend morning shows.
Tania Ortega will solo anchor Good Day Austin on Saturday and Sunday.
“Tania has covered everything from hurricanes and tornadoes to features for ‘Good Day Austin.’ Because she is tuned in to the city of Austin and the interests of its people, Tania is the ideal person to take over this anchor position,” said Pam Vaught.
Ortega has been with reporting for the morning show since February 2013. Prior to that, she held the positions of reporter-producer for KCEN and reporter-anchor, and sales representative at KXXV.
“After 4 ½ years of reporting on location for ‘Good Day Austin,’ I’m excited to provide viewers with the news of the day and the human interest stories they love, all from the anchor desk,” said Ortega.
Her new role starts immediately.
