John Miller, who began his long broadcasting career as an investigative reporter in New York City, is returning to television, joining CBS News as a senior correspondent with a “major role” on “The Early Show.”
“It will be great to get him back on the air again,” CBS News chairman Jeff Fager said in a statement. “Even better that he will be on CBS.”
Miller’s career in television news began in 1973 at WNEW (now WNYW) in New York City. In 1985, he joined NBC owned-and-operated WNBC in the same market; he was an investigative reporter there until 1994, when he left to become chief spokesperson for NYC police commissioner William Bratton.
Miller returned to television in 1995, when he joined ABC News as co-anchor of “20/20.” He left in 2003 for California, where he was the bureau chief for the counter-terrorism and criminal intelligence bureau at the Los Angeles Police Department. In 2005, he joined the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, where he has been ever since.
