Local News Crews Await As Olympians Return Home

After a summer covering wildfires and a massacre at a movie theater, some good news to report from Denver. One of the stars of the Olympic games, four-time gold medalist Missy Franklin returned home from London Monday.

“Great job today by photojournalists Angel Rosado and Byron Stewart, along with our assignment desk, in getting exclusive video and sound with Missy Franklin at two different locations,” wrote KDVR/KWGN News Director Ed Kosowski to his staff. “Today, we stole the biggest story of the Olympics away from Denver’s ‘Olympic’ station and scooped not only KUSA but all of our competitors.”

Other U.S. Olympians are also getting back to normal — sort of. Many medalists are appearing on the “Today” show this week, Gabby Douglas was on “The Tonight Show” last night and The CW announced that Ryan Lochte will guest star in an episode of “90210” airing Monday, Oct. 29.
