Little Girl Who Witnessed Riots Gets New Bike from WTTG

The day after Baltimore saw rioting over the death of Freddie Gray, nine-year-old Charlize Mason celebrated her birthday not far from where it all happened.

“They was like burning up houses and beating up the police and all that other stuff,” Mason told WTTG at the time.

She also told the Washington, D.C. FOX owned station what she wanted for her birthday: a new bicycle and for “the grown-ups to ‘stop all this mess.'”

This morning, WTTG reporter Maureen Umeh granted Mason one of those wishes. Check out the video.
