John Fortney will take over as the evening news anchor on KOLN/KGIN-TV next week, the station announced Wednesday.
He will co-anchor the shows with Serese Cole; an exact start date has not been set, station representative Nikki Bates said.

Fortney comes to Lincoln from Columbus, Ohio, where he anchored the weekend newscasts at WBNS-TV. He began his broadcasting career in college as a weatherman at WTAP in Parkersburg, W.Va.
