Lexington Morning Weatherman Leaves Station

WTVQ meteorologist Eric Burke is leaving the station in Lexington, Kentucky. His last day on the air is today.

According to his co-anchor, Doug High‘s, post on Facebook, the morning weatherman will be heading to Alabama to forecast the weather.

“Hate to say goodbye and “Thank You” to such a good friend from such a great distance, but opportunity waits for no one. Folks, our morning Meteorologist, Eric Burke is moving on…Today, Wednesday 13 September will be his last day on “Good Morning Kentucky” and “Good Day Kentucky”. Eric is a great friend of mine and a good man. He has worked very hard for us and especially for our viewers in Central Kentucky, keeping them alert and safe from severe weather.”

According to his bio, he came to the ABC affiliate from Rapid City, South Dakota in 2015 as a weekend meteorologist and moved to the mornings in 2016.
