Meteorologist Jason Kadah has landed at Phoenix’s KPHO. He comes from KREM in Spokane, where he leaves behind devoted fans as well as lingering questions over his abrupt dismissal earlier this year.
In June, Spokane viewers began noticing that Kadah had gone missing from the air. Upset that their favorite weathercaster, with his energetic personality and quirky sense of humor, had been let go by the local CBS-affiliate, fans lobbied online for Kadah’s return, starting Facebook pages and selling “Keep Jason in Spokane” t-shirts. KREM said that Kadah had left the station on his own volition but he made it clear that he was dismissed with one year left on his contract.
“I can tell you that despite KREM telling viewers I ‘left to pursue other opportunities,’ that is utterly false,” Kadah he told Spokane’s The Inlander in August.
Kadah is looking forward to a fresh start in Phoenix, where he’ll join meteorologist Paul Horton, another veteran of the Spokane market. “I was very impressed with the station, the staff, and the management,” Kadah said of KPHO.
