Chicago ABC-owned station WLS as announced the addition of Laura Thoren to its news team. Thoren joins as a general assignment reporter.
Thoren previously worked at KOAT, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, N.M., where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor.
“Laura is an aggressive reporter who is always looking to uncover the next big story,” Jennifer Graves, WLS vice president and news director, said in a statement.

Thoren begins her new position on August 31.
