Lansing’s WLNS Makes Changes at Anchor Desk

By Andrew Gauthier

WLNS, a CBS-affiliate in central Michigan, is shuffling its anchor lineup.

Lauren Thompson, who has been with WLNS since 2003 and anchors the station’s morning and noon newscasts, is moving from weekdays to weekends. She will be replaced at the noon anchor desk by weekend anchor Ann Emmerich.

WLNS describes it as a “family-friendly move.” Thompson and Emmerich are changing roles to account for their shifting parenting responsibilities.  Thompson has two young girls at home while Emmerich is the mother of three older boys.

Thompson’s move to weekends opened up a spot for reporter Brittany Gray, who joined the station in 2009 as a video journalist. Gray will join Evan Pinsonnault at the weekday morning anchor desk.
