KUSA Sports Anchor Condemns ‘Tebowing’

By Andrew Gauthier

“There is nothing funny about ‘Tebowing,'” KUSA sports anchor Drew Soicher pointedly told viewers on Tuesday about the recent trend of mimicking Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow’s crouched, on-field prayer pose. “Tebow is a deeply religious, polite, thoughtful, mature, and well-mannered young man who deserved to be admired, not mocked.”

In a commentary (video above) that KUSA is calling “powerful and controversial,” Soicher rips into those who are perpetuating the fad, even though Tebow himself says he doesn’t mind. Soicher’s editorial, which is being promoted throughout the KUSA site, has received a considerable amount of–mostly positive–feedback on the station’s Facebook page.  Meaning it’s only a matter of time before someone Photoshops Soicher into a Tebow pose.
