KUSA Airing Special Series on Dog Behavior as Anchor Kyle Dyer Recovers From Second Surgery

By Andrew Gauthier

KUSA morning anchor Kyle Dyer underwent her second surgery on Monday to repair facial injuries she suffered when a dog bit her on live TV two weeks ago.

Dyer received 20 stitches during the operation and had 70 stitches removed from her previous surgery, according to KUSA.

“As a result of Kyle’s injuries, all this week we are going to air a special series on canine behavior,” the NBC-affiliate announced on Monday.

The series, from reporter Kevin Torres, will air during KUSA’s 9 and 10 p.m. newscasts. Monday’s segment focused on the best ways for humans to interact with dogs, especially those that are unfamiliar (video inside).

KUSA reported on Monday that Dyer “seems to be healing well” following her second surgery. Dyer does not have additional operations scheduled but that could change depending on how she heals.

Here’s KUSA’s dog report from Monday, which includes the tip from an animal behavior expert to “Keep your face away from the dog’s face”…
