the fan sports showKTXA, the CBS-owned independent station in Dallas, has canceled “The Fan Sports Show,” Dallas media blogger Ed Bark reports. Beginning next week, the station will shift “Inside Edition” to 6:30 p.m. and will air classic Western shows, such as reruns of “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza,” from 7 to 8 p.m.

“It will create a fun summertime escape for fans of these classic shows,” KTVT-KTXA general manager Gary Schneider told Bark. “And we’ll be introducing them to other viewers for the first time. This is truly timeless television.”

“The Fan Sports Show” is anchored by Bill Jones, with Jane Slater as the regular fill-in. Both of them will remain with KTVT-KTXA, according to Bark.
