KTTV Names Jeff Michael Anchor of 5 p.m. Newscast

KTTV‘s brand-new 5 p.m. newscast, slated to launch next Monday on the Fox owned-and-operated station in Los Angeles, officially has an anchor: veteran KTTV personality Jeff Michael (pictured, left).

Michael has been with KTTV as a reporter and weekend anchor since 1998. He will be joined on the 5 p.m. broadcast — which news director Kingsley Smith has made a top priority — by reporters Liz Habib and Ed Laskos, as well as entertainment anchor Lisa Breckenridge.

The hour-long broadcast, which will feature opinions and analysis on local issues, will follow Anderson Cooper’s syndicated daytime talk show “Anderson,” which also debuts next week. Chris Lemire, a former Fox News Channel producer, will be the newscast’s executive producer.
