KTSP Shares Journey After His Leg Amputation Surgery

KTSP anchor Chris Egert has been off the air while recovering from partial amputation surgery.

In December, the Minneapolis news personality had surgery to relieve years of ankle pain.

The ABC affiliate has documented the steps following his recovery and this week Egert received his prosthetic leg.

“You don’t just put one of these things on and start walking—so that part of the process is admittedly a little intimidating. But, others who’ve been on this journey say it gets better—so I believe them,” he said in a Facebook post.

Following his amputation surgery, Egert has also been battling nerve pain as well.

“The intense nerve pain is ever present—I’ll undergo a different nerve block attempt on Monday—which will hopefully bring some relief,” he said.

He says it’s unclear when he will return to the anchor desk but hopes it’s soon.
