After three years at Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC, evening anchor Kris Pickel has decided to leave the station.
Pickel, who joined WKYC in April 2012, has accepted a new gig as main anchor at Phoenix CBS affiliate KPHO.
“She’s going to be missed,” said WKYC president and general manager Micki Byrnes. “She and I have been talking for a long time about this, and a few tears were shed. But family comes first.”

Pickel and her husband, videographer Carl Lemon, have family in Arizona. She previously spent 10 years as the main anchor at CBS affiliate KOLD in Tucson.
Pickel will join Sean McLaughlin at the evening anchor desk starting in June.
