Former Arizona Cardinals coaching intern Jen Welter has been hired by Phoenix NBC affiliate KPNX as an NFL analyst, reports ESPN.
Welter will appear on the station’s Sunday night sports show, and in sportscasts during the week, news director Sandra Kotzambasis told ESPN. “I’m excited to see what Jen has to say each week. She’s already proven that she is a natural on-air, but more importantly, incredibly knowledgeable about the game.”
Welter played professional football for 14 years, becoming the first woman to play a non-kicking position in a men’s game. She then became an assistant coach with the Texas Revolution in 2015.
