A KOZL-KOLR reporter won $20,000 after sinking a half-court shot in between quarters of an NBA game Sunday night (video above).

Justin Dougherty, an Oklahoma City Thunder fan, got tickets to a game as a gift from his girlfriend on his birthday. He was selected at random from the crowd to participate in a free throw contest, which he won, receiving a chance to take the half-court shot.

“Once the ball was in mid-flight, I remember thinking, ‘That’s straight, that could go,’ and I remember thinking it felt like the ball was in flight for 30 seconds,” Dougherty told Tulsa CBS affiliate KOTV

The reporter plans to use the money to pay off his car loan and buy his girlfriend a present. [h/t NewsBlues]
